Job summary

IHG Hotels & Resorts are seeking a proactive GRMS Technician to ensure GRMS components and cabling are installed, maintained and optimized in our Ras Al Khaimah resort. You will follow safety procedures, respond to health and safety requests, and support guest service with reliable technology.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, demonstrates strong communication and analytical skills, and applies hotel technology principles to everyday operations.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science from a reputed institution.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and statistical skills demonstrated through previous experience with spreadsheets.
• Strong knowledge of hotel technology principles and practices.
• Familiarity with organization design models and decision-making framework.
• Effective presentation, communication, consulting and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensures all work follows safe work practices and procedures.
• Responds immediately to all work requests which concern Health and Safety.
• Responds to guest requests promptly in a professional and courteous manner.
• Operates, maintains, and programs all GRMS components and cabling.
• Ensures the optimum performance of all GRMS equipment and servers by following the preventive maintenance routine.
• Evaluates and appropriately respond to equipment usage and energy efficiency.
• Completes all work orders with due diligence.
• Maintains a daily logbook highlighting problems, solutions, and activities.
• Maintains GRMS shop drawings and programming files for each room type.
• Maintain equipment catalogue and tagging directories.
• Completes tasks as assigned by the IT Director or its delegate.
• Maintains health and safety documentation and records for the assigned area.
• Reports and documents potential safety hazards.
• Participates as directed in the emergency response team.

A little taste of your day-to-day:

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:
