IHG Hotels & Resorts is seeking an experienced Engineering Supervisor for InterContinental Ras Al Khaimah Mina Al Arab Resort & Spa. You will lead a hotel engineering team to maintain HVAC, electrical, plumbing and safety systems, ensuring reliability and guest comfort.

You’ll plan preventive maintenance, manage work orders and budgets, coordinate with contractors, and mentor staff to uphold safety standards while delivering seamless operations in a luxury resort setting.

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience in hotel engineering or facilities management.
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and fire safety.
• Ability to read technical drawings, blueprints and equipment manuals.
• Flexible to work shifts, including nights and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead the engineering team to ensure timely maintenance and repair of hotel facilities and equipment.
• Plan, schedule, and oversee preventive maintenance programs and emergency repairs.
• Conduct regular inspections of hotel systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, elevators) for efficiency and safety.
• Manage work orders, maintenance logs, and ensure documentation is accurate.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and suppliers for outsourced maintenance and repairs.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate engineering staff performance.
• Monitor inventory levels of engineering supplies and requisition materials as needed.
• Assist in developing and managing the engineering budget, including labor, materials, and equipment costs.
• Ensure adherence to local regulations, safety codes, and hotel policies.
• Respond to urgent engineering issues with timely solutions.
• Collaborate with other hotel departments to support operations and guest satisfaction.

The Engineering Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the hotel engineering team to ensure all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and safety systems are functioning efficiently. This role involves supervising maintenance staff, coordinating preventive maintenance, managing repairs, and ensuring compliance with safety standards to deliver a comfortable and safe environment for guests and staff.

A little taste of your day-to-day:

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

• Supervise and lead the engineering team to ensure timely and effective maintenance and repair of hotel facilities and equipment
• Plan, schedule, and oversee preventive maintenance programs and emergency repairs
• Conduct regular inspections of hotel systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, elevators, etc.) to ensure operational efficiency and safety compliance
• Manage work orders, maintenance logs, and ensure documentation is accurate and up-to-date
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and suppliers for outsourced maintenance and repair work
• Train, mentor, and evaluate engineering staff performance
• Monitor inventory levels of engineering supplies and equipment; requisition materials as necessary

What We need from you:

• Proven experience in a supervisory role within hotel engineering or facilities management
• Strong technical knowledge of hotel engineering systems: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and fire safety
• Ability to read technical drawings, blueprints, and equipment manuals
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Proficient in maintenance management systems and Microsoft Office applications
• Relevant technical diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
• Flexible to work shifts, including nights and weekends as needed
