Job summary

Parsons in Abu Dhabi, UAE seeks an Assistant Resident Engineer – Geotechnical to provide day-to-day site-based support for earthworks and infrastructure projects. You will ensure compliance with design, specifications, and testing requirements while coordinating with QA/QC and laboratories.

Responsibilities include deputizing for the Resident Engineer, reviewing geotechnical data, monitoring excavation and compaction, and maintaining accurate site records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering.
• 10+ years of site-based geotechnical supervision on major infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of soil mechanics, compaction, and ground improvement.

Responsibilities

• Assist and deputize for the Resident Engineer to support site delivery.
• Review geotechnical reports, drawings, specifications, and soil data; ensure requirements are implemented on site.
• Monitor earthworks, excavation, grading, embankments, backfilling, compaction and soil improvement on site.
• Assess ground conditions and identify unsuitable materials or groundwater issues; suggest corrective actions.
• Coordinate QA/QC and approved laboratories; witness and verify testing.
• Maintain accurate site records and participate in progress meetings and inspections.
