Job summary

Parsons is seeking a Senior Technical Engineer in Abu Dhabi, UAE. You will perform a wide range of challenging engineering assignments, applying advanced techniques within civil engineering.

Responsibilities include reviewing drawings for compliance, coordinating design clarifications, conducting constructability reviews, and leading site supervision with rigorous inspections to ensure approvals and test verifications are achieved.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Minimum 15 years of technical engineering experience, with 5–8 years in the UAE and strong Abu Dhabi authority exposure.
• Consultant experience on mixed-use/commercial and infrastructure/landscape programs.
• Excellent technical writing and review skills; strong stakeholder management and communication.
• English fluency required; Arabic an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Review IFC, shop drawings, and coordination drawings for compliance with specs, codes, and employer’s requirements.
• Coordinate technical queries and design clarifications with the design consultant; ensure timely, traceable closure.
• Conduct constructability and maintainability reviews; identify design gaps and interface risks.
• Review and comment and recommend materials, method statements, temporary works, ITPs, mock-ups, and samples for approval.
• Track and validate NOCs/permits/authority approvals; ensure contractor adherence to authority comments and conditions.
• Lead technical site supervision oversight and independent inspections; verify compliance before consultant/authority sign-offs.
• Direct root-cause analysis and closure of NCRs/SORs; verify FAT/SAT and performance tests.
• Ensure survey controls, as-builts accuracy, and builder's work coordination.
