Qualifications

Responsibilities

The FS Teacher will guide children through a vital stage of early development by creating purposeful learning experiences that combine structured teaching, exploration, play and creativity. The role focuses on helping young learners develop communication, early literacy, numeracy, independence, confidence and positive relationships while building the foundations needed for future academic success. Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Foundation Stage lessons that support early academic, social, emotional and physical development.
• Create age-appropriate learning experiences through play, exploration, storytelling, practical activities and guided instruction.
• Develop children 's early literacy, communication, phonics, vocabulary, listening and emergent writing skills.
• Strengthen foundational numeracy through counting, patterns, problem-solving, comparison and practical mathematical activities.
• Observe and assess children 's progress and use evidence to plan appropriate next steps.
• Differentiate activities to meet varying developmental levels, learning styles and individual needs.
• Establish consistent routines that encourage independence, responsibility and confidence.
• Create a safe, stimulating and inclusive classroom environment where children feel secure and motivated to participate.
• Use creative resources and educational technology to enhance learning and engagement.
• Build positive relationships with students and promote respectful behaviour aligned with school values.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding development, progress and areas requiring additional support.
• Collaborate with colleagues to share effective teaching practices and strengthen Early Years provision.
• Participate in curriculum planning, assessment moderation and professional learning activities.

Ideal Profile

• Candidates should hold a BEd or a Bachelor 's degree together with PGCE, PGDE or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Proven experience teaching Early Years is required, supported by a strong understanding of child development, Foundation Stage pedagogy and effective classroom practice.
• The successful candidate should demonstrate a creative and enthusiastic teaching style, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong working relationships with children, parents and colleagues.
• A proven record of delivering high-quality teaching and learning is important, along with the confidence to share exemplary classroom practice with colleagues.
• Candidates should also show ambition for continued professional growth and a willingness to contribute positively to extracurricular activities, community events and the wider culture of the school.
