Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Education required; educational certificates should be attested for UAE use.
  • 1–2 years of Foundation Stage/early years experience in a British Curriculum setting preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS curriculum; ability to plan, observe and adapt activities.
  • Excellent English communication and ability to collaborate with colleagues, parents and staff.

Role Context

The Foundation Stage Teacher will support children during a critical phase of early development, helping them build strong foundations in communication, literacy, numeracy, physical development, personal growth and independent learning. The role requires an educator who can combine structured EYFS planning with play-based and inquiry-led experiences. By creating a secure and stimulating classroom, the teacher will help children develop confidence, curiosity and the social skills needed for successful progression into later stages of primary education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate Foundation Stage lessons based on EYFS curriculum expectations.
  • Create engaging learning experiences that support communication, language, literacy, numeracy and early cognitive development.
  • Use play-based learning, practical activities and guided exploration to strengthen understanding.
  • Establish daily classroom routines that promote independence, responsibility and positive behaviour.
  • Observe children carefully and use evidence from classroom activities to assess development and learning.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress across relevant EYFS learning areas.
  • Adapt teaching activities to reflect different developmental levels and individual learning needs.
  • Provide additional support for children who require reinforcement or targeted intervention.
  • Offer appropriate challenge for learners who demonstrate advanced development.
  • Create stimulating classroom learning areas that encourage exploration, creativity and independent engagement.
  • Support early reading, phonics, vocabulary development and oral communication.
  • Develop early mathematical understanding through practical counting, patterns, shapes, measures and problem-solving activities.
  • Promote physical development through age-appropriate movement, coordination and fine motor activities.
  • Support personal, social and emotional development by encouraging confidence, cooperation and positive relationships.
  • Help children learn to communicate needs, manage emotions and participate constructively in group activities.
  • Use stories, songs, creative work, role play and sensory experiences to enrich learning.
  • Maintain a safe, welcoming and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, homeroom colleagues and school leadership.
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding children 's progress, development and classroom participation.
  • Participate in parent meetings, school activities and educational events.
  • Prepare classroom resources and learning materials in advance of lessons and activities.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning and shared Foundation Stage initiatives.
  • Participate in staff training and professional development programmes.
  • Follow safeguarding, child protection, health and safety and school compliance procedures.
  • Support wider school responsibilities assigned by academic leadership.
Ideal Profile

Candidates should hold a Bachelor of Education, which is mandatory for this position. Educational certificates should be properly attested for use in the United Arab Emirates. Applicants should have 1-2 years of experience in a comparable Foundation Stage, early years or homeroom teaching position. Strong knowledge of the EYFS Curriculum is required. Previous experience within a British Curriculum school will be advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate confidence in planning lessons, observing student development and adapting activities for different learning needs. Excellent spoken and written English communication skills are essential. The successful teacher should be patient, organised and capable of creating positive relationships with young children. Applicants should be able to work collaboratively with colleagues, teaching assistants and parents. Candidates must be available to join in August 2026.
