Job summary

Responsibilities

• Open and pour wine at the table and guide guests through the dining experience.
• Handle payments, issue receipts, and reconcile cash/EDC at shift end.
• Support outlet tasks and assist colleagues as needed.
• Follow HACCP and hygiene standards; maintain grooming and appearance.

Guest Service and Dining Experience

• Welcome guests and present the restaurant menu.
• Explain daily specials and advise guests of relevant menu changes.
• Provide knowledgeable recommendations on food and beverages and identify appropriate opportunities to suggest additional items.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders and record any special dietary or preparation requests.
• Communicate guest requirements clearly to support accurate preparation and service.
• Respond promptly to questions, additional requests and service needs.
• Observe the dining experience and follow up to ensure guests are satisfied with their food and service.
• Deliver ordered items, clear completed courses, replenish utensils and refill glasses as required.
• Offer desserts, beverages and other appropriate menu selections during service.
• Open and pour wine correctly at the table.
• Maintain complete working knowledge of the menu and products offered within the assigned restaurant or service area.
• Communicate relevant resort products and services accurately to guests.

POS and Payment Responsibilities

• Enter orders accurately into the POS system, including specific preparation instructions requested by guests.
• Accept payments, issue receipts and return the correct change.
• Assist with financial transactions when required.
• Tally daily credit card settlements against the batch closing report from the EDC machine.
• Print the required closing report and submit cash according to established Front Office or Accounts procedures.
• Complete the shift-closing process on the POS terminal.
• Maintain accuracy when handling cash, card transactions and settlement records.

Outlet Support

The Food and Beverage Server will work closely with colleagues to complete service requirements efficiently and may support other Food and Beverage areas when operational needs require additional assistance. Responsibilities may include answering telephones, supporting basic outlet cleaning tasks and assisting with duties assigned by the supervisor or manager. Some familiarity with basic cooking principles is required to support accurate menu knowledge and guest communication.

Hygiene and Service Standards

Follow hotel hygiene and HACCP standards and ensure relevant Standard Operating Procedures and requirements are consistently observed. Maintain the required grooming and appearance standards throughout each shift.
