Job summary

Tanqeeb is seeking an Estimator to prepare accurate cost estimates, BOQs, and tender submissions for construction and MEP projects in the UAE. The role requires reviewing drawings and specifications to determine material, labour, equipment, and subcontractor costs.

The ideal candidate holds an engineering or quantity surveying background with 2–5 years of estimation experience, proficiency in MS Excel and AutoCAD, and strong numerical and negotiation skills. Dubai-based role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in engineering, quantity surveying, construction, or related field.
• 2–5 years of relevant estimation experience in construction or MEP projects.
• Strong knowledge of BOQ preparation, quantity take-offs, cost estimation and rate analysis.

Responsibilities

• Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and scope of work.
• Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and BOQs.
• Calculate material, labour, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Prepare accurate project cost estimates and pricing.
• Obtain, review, and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Conduct rate analysis and cost comparisons.
• Prepare commercial quotations and tender submissions within deadlines.
• Identify project scope, exclusions, variations, and potential cost risks.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and project teams.
• Assist in preparing variation and additional-work estimates.
• Maintain records of quotations, estimates, and tender documents.
• Monitor current market rates for materials and services.
• Support negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors when required.
• Ensure all estimates are accurate, competitive, and commercially viable.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in estimation, preferably in construction or MEP projects.
• Strong knowledge of BOQ preparation, quantity take-offs, cost estimation, and rate analysis.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of estimation or costing software is an advantage.
• Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tender deadlines.
• UAE/GCC project experience is preferred.
