Role Context

The Estimation Engineer - Trading will assist the commercial and technical teams by reviewing project requirements, preparing BOQs, supporting quotation submissions, coordinating with suppliers, and maintaining accurate technical and commercial documentation. The role requires attention to detail, basic engineering knowledge, good computer skills, and the ability to work closely with sales, procurement, and supplier teams to support timely and accurate client proposals.

Key Responsibilities

• Review client inquiries, project requirements, drawings, and technical specifications to support estimation work.
• Prepare quantity take-offs for trading division projects and product requirements.
• Assist in preparing bills of quantity, quotations, cost sheets, and commercial documents.
• Follow up on submitted quotations and coordinate updates with the sales or estimation team.
• Prepare technical documents, compliance sheets, product information, and supporting submission files as required.
• Coordinate with suppliers to obtain pricing, technical details, product availability, and delivery timelines.
• Maintain quotation records, supplier correspondence, project documents, and client inquiry files.
• Support the preparation of client proposals and trading division documentation.
• Use MS Office and Outlook for documentation, reporting, communication, and quotation tracking.
• Assist with AutoCAD-related review, drawing interpretation, or basic design coordination when required.
• Ensure estimation documents are accurate, organized, and prepared in line with company standards.
• Work with internal teams to ensure timely completion of estimation and quotation tasks.
• Support day-to-day estimation, pre-sales, and technical coordination activities assigned by the department.

Ideal Profile

• Diploma, B.Tech, or BE in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 0-1 year of experience in estimation, pre-sales, technical documentation, quotation preparation, or trading operations.
• Fresh graduates with strong technical interest and willingness to learn can also apply.
• Basic understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, BOQs, and technical documents.
• Good knowledge of MS Office and Outlook.
• AutoCAD knowledge will be an added advantage.
• Ability to prepare quantity take-offs, quotations, and documentation with accuracy.
• Strong coordination skills for working with suppliers, sales teams, and internal departments.
