Job summary

Mandarin Oriental Jumeira, Dubai is seeking an Assistant Director of Engineering to join our Engineering team. You will support the Director of Engineering in maintaining the hotel’s mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems while ensuring safety and sustainability.

The role requires a strong background in building services, luxury hospitality, and customer-focused leadership, with the ability to manage budgets and coordinate with outside vendors.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in engineering studies (Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC or Building Services).
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a luxury hotel environment.
• Minimum 2 years at the same level.
• International experience in the Middle East is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Assist Director of Engineering on repairs and maintenance of the hotel’s physical plant and facilities.
• Maintain electrical, HVAC, mechanical systems and energy conservation programs.
• Ensure safety and compliance with Mandarin Oriental standards and local regulations.
• Coordinate with vendors for repair and maintenance work and prepare reports.
