Job summary

Scale AI is seeking a Head of Solutions Engineering to lead and grow the technical pre-sales function across the EMEA region. You’ll hire, mentor, and scale a team of world-class Solutions Engineers & Solution Architects who partner closely with Sales, Product, and Engineering.

This strategic, hands-on leadership role balances deal support with building a scalable GTM organization and AI capability across diverse markets in EMEA.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, or Technical Consulting, with 4+ years in a leadership capacity.
• Proven experience building and scaling technical pre-sales or customer engineering teams across multiple markets.
• Strong foundation in cloud architecture, enterprise infrastructure, and API-driven products.
• Hands-on technical ability — comfortable both building prototypes and guiding your team.
• Familiarity with AI/ML technologies, data platforms, and modern model deployment practices.
• Demonstrated executive presence and credibility with both technical and business leaders.
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, aligning Sales, Product, and Services toward shared outcomes.
• Commercial and strategic mindset — able to connect technical work to business value and regional go-to-market goals.
• Experience navigating diverse, fast-evolving markets and driving impact in ambiguous, high-growth environments.
• Willingness to travel frequently across EMEA to support customers and team members.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Sales and regional leadership to drive technical strategy, qualification, and execution for complex deals.
• Define and operationalize repeatable pre-sales processes, tools, and playbooks to accelerate customer success.
• Build and lead a world-class Solutions Engineering organization across EMEA — recruiting, mentoring, and enabling a distributed team.
• Lead the technical discovery, demo, and proof-of-concept lifecycle, ensuring pilots translate into production wins.
• Represent Scale’s platform and technology capabilities to executives, technical stakeholders, and partners.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to bring customer insights back into roadmap discussions and feature design.
• Develop regional enablement programs to ensure consistent technical excellence across the team.
• Drive key metrics: pilot-to-production conversion, team utilization, revenue influence, and customer adoption.
• Champion a culture of curiosity, innovation, and accountability, fostering deep AI understanding and go-to-market discipline.
• Act as a thought leader in the region — representing Scale at industry events, executive briefings, and ecosystem forums.
