EHS Engineer: Site Safety & Compliance Lead

Job summary

Thehseleader is seeking an experienced EHS professional to ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety requirements at the project site. The role includes implementing EHS programs, conducting inspections, and promoting a strong safety culture among employees and contractors.

Responsibilities include risk assessments, JSA, site audits, training, incident investigations, and emergency planning, reporting to the Project Manager and EHS Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of EHS experience, preferably in renewable energy or construction.
• NEBOSH certification is mandatory.
• Ground-mounted Solar PV experience preferred, particularly within the Middle East.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable local, national and international EHS regulations and standards.
• Conduct risk assessments and Job Safety Analyses (JSA) and identify appropriate mitigation measures.
• Carry out regular site inspections and EHS audits.
• Conduct EHS training and toolbox talks for site personnel and contractors.
• Monitor compliance with HSE requirements and promote a safety-first culture.
• Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Develop and implement emergency response plans for the project site.
• Prepare regular EHS performance reports for the Project Manager and EHS Manager.
• Coordinate with contractors, clients and regulatory bodies on EHS matters.
