Job summary

Swissotel Al Murooj in Dubai is seeking a guest-focused Waitress - Food and Beverage Service with at least 1 year of professional experience to deliver attentive table service and manage F&B orders in a fast-paced hotel dining environment.

The ideal candidate will be proficient with Micros POS, capable of upselling, and dedicated to maintaining high food hygiene and safety standards for a premier Downtown Dubai venue within the Accor network.

Qualifications

• The position requires a college graduate with at least one year of professional experience in a waitressing, restaurant service or comparable food and beverage position.
• Fluency in English is essential, while additional languages would be advantageous when serving Dubai's diverse international guest market.
• Proficiency with computer systems and point-of-sale software is required.
• Experience using Micros or a similar restaurant POS platform will be particularly relevant for accurate order processing and billing.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the assigned food and beverage outlet before opening according to meal periods, service requirements and operating schedules.
• Complete mise-en-place, table settings, equipment polishing and other pre-service duties required for smooth restaurant operations.
• Welcome guests courteously and coordinate seating arrangements with the hostess.
• Present menus clearly and provide suitable recommendations based on guest preferences and available promotions.
• Take food and beverage orders accurately and communicate them promptly to the relevant service and kitchen teams.
• Enter all ordered items correctly into the Micros point-of-sale system according to actual guest consumption.
• Ensure completed bills and payment documentation are transferred correctly to the cashier.
• Maintain strong knowledge of menus, ingredients, promotions and outlet-specific information.
• Provide attentive service throughout the dining experience and anticipate guest needs before assistance is requested.
• Build professional and friendly relationships with guests while maintaining discretion and appropriate service boundaries.
• Apply suitable up-selling techniques to help support monthly outlet revenue targets.
• Handle routine guest concerns professionally and consult the immediate supervisor when further assistance is required.
• Maintain clean, organized and fully prepared side stations throughout the shift.
• Collect supplies, materials and operating items from other hotel departments when necessary.
• Report equipment defects, maintenance requirements and cleanliness issues without delay.
• Attend regular departmental training covering guest care, product knowledge, grooming standards, up-selling and operational procedures.
• Participate actively in departmental briefings and maintain clear communication with colleagues.
• Follow established personal hygiene, grooming and uniform standards while on duty.
• Observe hotel policies covering food hygiene, fire prevention, workplace health and safety.
• Remain familiar with departmental operating manuals and relevant internal procedures.
• Support other food and beverage areas or hotel departments when operational requirements demand additional assistance.
• Contribute to responsible energy and water consumption within the outlet.
• Help reduce unnecessary waste and support environmentally responsible purchasing and operating practices.
• Maintain accuracy in guest records and coordinate relevant information with the hostess when required.
• Protect the professional image of Swissotel Al Murooj through courteous behaviour, reliability and consistent service standards.
