Job summary

D2B is seeking a Duty Manager / FOH Supervisor to lead front-of-house operations at a high-volume rooftop venue. You will coach the FOH team, coordinate with kitchen, bar and hotel management, and act as the responsible person on shift to uphold service standards.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in FOH supervision, NZ LCQ, and a General Manager's Certificate. Willingness to relocate to NZ is required. This role emphasizes guest satisfaction, safety, and seamless service delivery.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead FOH team during service — floor coverage, table management, guest flow

• Greet guests, resolve complaints and service issues
• Monitor service standards across dining, bar, and event spaces
• Coordinate with kitchen and bar teams on food/beverage delivery
• Manage opening/closing procedures, including till reconciliation and end-of-shift reporting
• Support recruitment, induction, and training of FOH staff
• Run pre-shift briefings (specials, events, priorities)
• Assist with rostering and shift coordination
• Report maintenance, H&S, or operational issues to the Venue Manager

The Duty Manager coaches and directs the FOH team in a fast-paced, high-volume rooftop venue and works closely with kitchen, bar, and hotel management to deliver seamless service.

Responsibilities

• Lead FOH team during service — floor coverage, table management, guest flow
• Act as responsible person on shift; ensure compliance with the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 and host responsibility obligations
• Greet guests, resolve complaints and service issues
• Monitor service standards across dining, bar, and event spaces
• Coordinate with kitchen and bar teams on food/beverage delivery
• Manage opening/closing procedures, including till reconciliation and end-of-shift reporting
• Support recruitment, induction, and training of FOH staff
• Run pre-shift briefings (specials, events, priorities)
• Assist with rostering and shift coordination
• Report maintenance, H&S, or operational issues to the Venue Manager

Budget/Accounts

• Monitor daily revenue and labour costs against targets
• Minimise wastage, contribute to cost-effective FOH operation
• Ensure accurate processing of cash, EFTPOS, and tab transactions

Health & Safety

• Maintain a strong H&S culture and comply with all H&S requirements/policy
• Take no action (or inaction) that could cause harm; avoid unreasonable risks
• Report accidents, incidents, near misses, and hazards
• Follow safe methods and use safety equipment
• Seek guidance when a safe method isn't known

• Minimum 2 years' experience in a FOH supervisory or Duty Manager role in a high-volume hospitality venue
• Current LCQ (Licence Controller Qualification)
• Current General Manager's Certificate (New Zealand)
• Willing to relocate in NZ

Desirable

• Experience in a full-service restaurant and bar environment
• Experience managing private functions and events
• Proficient in point-of-sale systems and basic Microsoft Office
