Job summary

Latinem seeks a Manager Design & Process Automation (SPM) to lead end-to-end design, development, and deployment of Special Purpose Machines and automation solutions. You will own the lifecycle from concept through prototyping and commissioning, coordinating with cross-functional teams to meet manufacturing and cost goals.

The role emphasizes design for in-house fabrication, regulatory compliance, and on-site deployment.

Qualifications

• Project planning, timelines, and budgets for SPM projects.
• Feasibility studies and conceptual design from requirements.
• Design mechanical components and assemblies in CAD.
• Specify motors, drives, sensors for performance.
• Prototype, test, and coordinate with teams for fabrication.
• Iterate designs based on test data to improve metrics.
• Lead commissioning at customer sites and training.
• Create and maintain BOMs and drawings.
• Collaborate with PMs, Manufacturing, QA.
• Address design challenges with innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop project plans, timelines and budgets for SPM and product design.
• Generate machine and product concepts from customer requirements and specs.
• Design mechanical components and systems with CAD for detailed drawings.
• Specify electrical components and controllers to meet performance.
• Build and test prototypes; coordinate with manufacturing for fabrication.
• Iterate designs to improve performance, manufacturability and cost.
• Lead commissioning and deployment at customer sites; train operators.
• Prepare design specs, drawings and BOMs; keep docs current.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Manufacturing Engineers, QA to meet requirements.
• Resolve design challenges with innovative solutions.
