Job summary

Oracle is seeking an on-site IT infrastructure technician to deliver hands-on technical support and installations in OCI data centers. Responsibilities include server/network hardware setup, structured cabling, and problem escalation with 24x7 site coverage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in CS, IS or equivalent work experience.
• Hands-on server and network hardware installation and break-fix.
• Structured cabling troubleshooting and diagnostics.
• Data center infrastructure knowledge including mechanical and electrical.
• On-call with driving license; reach Data Center within 60 minutes.
• Ability to work in cramped spaces or elevated locations.
• Strong communication and ability to interact with diverse groups.
• Experience with incident handling and preventive maintenance.
• Linux command line proficiency.
• Experience with inventory management and quality control.
• Networking fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Act as hardware support expert liaison to other technical and non-technical teams.
• Understand internal customer problem and provide hands-on technical solution promptly.
• Install, monitor, maintain and optimize production server and network hardware.
• System board level repair and fault diagnosis within SLAs.
• Structured cabling installation is a significant part of this position.
• Plan and commission new whitespaces and rack positions.
• Rack receiving, installation and decommissioning activities.
• Perform monthly, quarterly and annual compliance audits.
• Adhere to site-specific and customer-specific security policies and health and safety processes.
• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and be a team player.
• Work at customer locations is required.
• Keep up with the latest technologies and apply them appropriately.
