Though recruitment is in Dubai, UAE, the physician will work in Saudi Arabia supporting a tertiary transplant service where careful patient selection, precise clinical monitoring, immunosuppression safety, infection prevention, and long‑term graft protection are critical. The role contributes to improved transplant outcomes by combining specialist cardiology knowledge, transplant committee participation, multidisciplinary coordination, and evidence‑based follow‑up care.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and manage patients with advanced heart failure, end‑stage cardiac disease, and potential need for cardiac transplantation.
- Conduct pre‑transplant assessments, listing evaluations, risk stratification, transplant readiness reviews, and long‑term care planning.
- Provide peri‑operative clinical support in coordination with cardiac surgeons, intensivists, anesthesiologists, transplant coordinators, and nursing teams.
- Manage post‑transplant follow‑up care, including graft function monitoring, rejection surveillance, infection prevention, medication review, and complication management.
- Develop and adjust immunosuppression protocols according to patient condition, transplant status, laboratory results, rejection risk, and international transplant standards.
- Assess patient suitability for mechanical circulatory support, including left ventricular assist devices, ECMO, bridge‑to‑transplant support, and advanced heart failure therapies.
- Participate in transplant selection committees, multidisciplinary case discussions, transplant pathway reviews, and complex treatment decisions.
- Collaborate with cardiac surgery, critical care, anesthesia, heart failure, imaging, pharmacy, infectious diseases, rehabilitation, and transplant coordination teams.
- Review clinical data, cardiac imaging, hemodynamic findings, laboratory results, biopsy reports, and transplant‑related investigations to guide patient management.
- Provide clear counseling to patients and families regarding transplant eligibility, treatment options, risks, immunosuppression, follow‑up requirements, and long‑term expectations.
- Support quality improvement initiatives, transplant outcome monitoring, clinical governance, audits, and protocol development.
- Contribute to teaching, research, academic activity, and mentoring within advanced heart failure and transplant medicine services.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation, transplant evaluation notes, committee recommendations, medication plans, follow‑up records, and care coordination updates.
- Stay updated with international transplant guidelines, including ISHLT and ACC/AHA standards, as well as emerging developments in advanced heart failure care.

- Excellent clinical judgment, communication, documentation, and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cardiac surgeons, intensivists, anesthesiologists, transplant coordinators, pharmacists, and allied healthcare teams.
