Key Responsibilities

• Lead ICU care for critically ill transplant patients, including pre‑operative, intra‑operative, and post‑operative critical care management.
• Manage complex liver and kidney transplant patients requiring advanced monitoring, organ support, stabilization, and multidisciplinary treatment planning.
• Collaborate with transplant surgeons, nephrologists, hepatologists, anesthetists, nurses, pharmacists, and allied health professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
• Perform and supervise advanced ICU procedures, including invasive monitoring, mechanical ventilation, renal replacement therapy, and hemodynamic support.
• Provide expert critical care consultations across transplant units, emergency areas, and other high‑acuity clinical settings.
• Develop individualized ICU treatment plans based on patient condition, transplant status, laboratory findings, imaging results, and clinical response.
• Support rapid decision‑making for complications such as sepsis, graft dysfunction, respiratory failure, bleeding risk, renal failure, and hemodynamic instability.
• Ensure compliance with DHA regulations, hospital protocols, international critical care standards, and transplant patient safety requirements.
• Participate in clinical research, quality improvement initiatives, morbidity reviews, audits, and transplant‑related outcome monitoring.
• Train and mentor junior doctors, ICU residents, nurses, and clinical staff in transplant critical care practice.
• Maintain accurate EMR documentation, ICU progress notes, procedure records, treatment plans, and multidisciplinary communication.

Ideal Profile

• Medical degree such as MBBS or equivalent with completed residency in Critical Care, Internal Medicine, or a related specialty.
• Fellowship or subspecialty training in Transplant ICU or Critical Care Medicine.
• Board certification such as UK CCT, American Board, Canadian FRCP, or equivalent recognized qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of post‑fellowship experience in transplant‑related ICU care.
• Valid license or eligibility for DHA Consultant classification.
• Proven experience managing liver and kidney transplant patients in high‑acuity ICU settings.
• Strong expertise in mechanical ventilation, invasive monitoring, renal replacement therapy, hemodynamic support, and advanced ICU technologies.
• Familiarity with EMR systems and structured ICU documentation.
• Excellent leadership, communication, clinical decision‑making, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.
• Proficiency in English is required, while Arabic language ability will be an advantage.
