Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage patients with advanced heart failure, complex cardiac disease, and potential heart transplantation needs.
• Conduct pre‑transplant assessments, listing evaluations, transplant suitability reviews, and structured patient selection preparation.
• Provide peri‑operative medical input and coordinate care with cardiac surgery, intensive care, anesthesia, transplant coordination, and nursing teams.
• Manage post‑transplant follow‑up, immunosuppression protocols, rejection surveillance, infection prevention, graft function monitoring, and long‑term patient care.
• Assess patients for mechanical circulatory support options, including LVAD, ECMO, and related advanced heart failure therapies.
• Collaborate closely with cardiac surgeons, intensivists, anesthesiologists, transplant coordinators, pharmacists, rehabilitation teams, and allied health professionals.
• Participate in transplant selection committees, multidisciplinary case discussions, morbidity reviews, and complex treatment planning meetings.
