Job description

Location: Dubai, UAEEmployment Type: Full-time, Site-based Salary: AED 15,000–18,000 per month, all-inclusive, depending on verified practical experience

About the Role

We are a building contracting company in Dubai seeking a highly practical and hands‑on Construction Manager to take full responsibility for the daily site execution of a new G+8 residential building project. This is a contractor‑side, site‑based execution role. It is not an office‑based management, documentation, planning‑only, or consultant‑supervision position. The selected candidate must treat the project as their own, maintain a strong daily presence across all active site areas, identify technical and workmanship problems proactively, and lead the site team until corrective actions are completed. The Construction Manager will report to and receive active support from the company’s Projects Manager. However, the candidate must be capable of controlling daily construction activities practically and independently.

Key Responsibilities

Take ownership of daily site execution from mobilization and substructure through superstructure, finishes, testing, completion, authority inspections, and final handover. Study the contract, drawings, specifications, BOQ, approved materials, authority requirements, and construction programme in detail. Identify drawing discrepancies, missing details, coordination conflicts, constructability problems, and technical risks before they affect site progress. Personally conduct detailed daily site inspections; general supervision from the office is not acceptable. Detect technical, quality, workmanship, sequencing, safety, and coordination problems before consultant inspections. Direct and control site engineers, foremen, surveyors, subcontractors, suppliers, and labour teams. Monitor manpower, productivity, materials, subcontractor performance, work fronts, and daily progress. Plan upcoming activities and ensure that drawings, materials, approvals, manpower, equipment, and access are available in advance. Lead the practical execution and quality control of:Excavation, shoring, dewatering, and substructure works Reinforcement, formwork, concrete, and RCC structure Waterproofing and associated protection works Blockwork, plastering, screed, and architectural works Internal and external finishes Façade, roofing, and external works MEP coordination before and during execution Review structural, architectural, and MEP drawings and resolve coordination conflicts before work proceeds. Coordinate professionally with the consultant, client, subcontractors, suppliers, and relevant authorities. Respond confidently and technically to consultant comments using approved drawings, specifications, contract requirements, and correct construction practices. Professionally challenge incorrect, contradictory, impractical, or non-contractual requirements while protecting the company’s technical and contractual position. Ensure that RFIs, material submittals, shop drawings, method statements, inspections, and approvals support site progress rather than delay it. Monitor the construction programme and prepare practical recovery measures whenever progress falls behind. Follow up material requests, procurement priorities, subcontractor mobilization, and long–lead items. Control inspections, NCR closures, snagging, testing and commissioning, authority requirements, BCC procedures, and final handover. Submit accurate daily and weekly progress reports to the Projects Manager, including delays, risks, required decisions, and corrective actions. Ensure that site records and correspondence accurately reflect the actual site situation. Maintain high standards of quality, safety, productivity, housekeeping, and site discipline.

Mandatory Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years of building construction experience in the UAE.
  • Proven experience as a Construction Manager, Senior Project Engineer, Site Manager, or equivalent role with direct responsibility for site execution.
  • Must have personally managed the contractor‑side execution of at least one G+8 or higher UAE building project.
  • Must clearly identify the project, main contractor, building height, project value, exact role, and stages personally managed.
  • Strong practical knowledge of RCC structure, waterproofing, masonry, plastering, finishes, façade works, and MEP coordination.
  • Ability to read and coordinate structural, architectural, and MEP drawings.
  • Ability to identify real technical and workmanship problems during site inspections.
  • Ability to lead engineers, foremen, subcontractors, and labour teams directly on site.
  • Ability to represent the contractor confidently and professionally in meetings and inspections.
  • ability to read and write in Arabic.
  • Workable professional English is required.
  • Must currently be based in the UAE and available for an in‑person interview and practical assessment in Dubai.
  • Must accept a predominantly site‑based role requiring daily physical inspections of all active work areas.
  • Salary expectation must be within the advertised range of AED 15,000–18,000 all-inclusive.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Dubai Municipality approval, such as G+4, G+12, or Unlimited.
  • Valid UAE driving licence.
  • Experience completing a UAE building project from mobilization or excavation through BCC and final handover.
  • Available to join within a short notice period.
This Position Is Not Suitable For

Please do not apply if your experience is primarily limited to:

  • Consultant‑side supervision
  • Client or developer‑side general supervision
  • Office coordination or documentation
  • Planning, reporting, contracts, or commercial management without direct site execution
  • Fit‑out projects only
  • Villas or low‑rise projects only
  • Infrastructure, roads, utilities, or MEP projects without full building construction experience
  • Attending meetings and delegating inspections without personally examining the work on site
  • A managerial title alone will not be considered sufficient.

The candidate must demonstrate real responsibility for construction execution and practical site problem-solving.

Practical Assessment

Shortlisted candidates will be required to complete:

  • A detailed technical interview covering actual construction methods and real site problems.
  • A review of selected project drawings to identify discrepancies, coordination issues, execution risks, and missing information.
  • A site inspection followed by a short written report identifying technical, workmanship, coordination, progress, and safety observations with proposed corrective actions. Candidates who provide only general answers or cannot clearly explain their personal role in previous projects will not proceed.
