Job summary

Met T&S Ltd. is seeking a Commissioning Electrical Assistant in the United Arab Emirates. The role requires 3-5 years of relevant experience in oil and gas or EPC projects, alongside a Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. Responsibilities include implementing commissioning procedures for electrical equipment and effective manpower utilization. The position offers an excellent salary package, on-site accommodation, transportation, and paid leave, operating under a rotation of 60 days on and 10 days off.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Implement the pre-commissioning and commissioning procedures for electrical equipment.
• Execute activities from the assigned crew with the subcontractor.
• Ensure effective utilization of commissioning manpower and consumables.
• Follow safety procedures during cable tests and motor tests.
• Assist supervisors with expediting pending punch list items.

Hours / Rotation

Rotation of 60 days on site and 10 days off (paid) & 2 days traveling (paid).

• Commissioning Electrical Assistant executes the activities pertaining to his /her discipline in compliance with the quality requirements, health / environmental/ safety regulations and following the stated procedures.
• He / she reports to the Commissioning Electrical Supervisor.
• He / she is assigned to the project by AVIMP Head of Department.

Duties and responsibilities

• To implement the pre-commissioning and commissioning procedures for electrical equipment.
• Execute with the assigned crew from the subcontractor all the activities pertaining to the discipline.
• Ensure effective utilization of commissioning manpower and consumables.
• Ensure the execution of vendor’s specialists field activities with the assigned resources from the subcontractor as per vendor’s representative plan.
• Perform Checklist as per supervisor instructions.
• Prepare the forms for all tests to be performed and ensure submission of the certificates, duly signed by involved parties for final handover to the certification engineer (QA / QC).
• To assure the proper safety procedures are followed during cable tests (meggering, induction test), test of motors, transformers, relays, electrical panels etc.
• Can be the authorized person designated by the site manager to receive or issue a permit to work according to the project permit to work procedure.
• Assistance to supervisor for expediting of pending punch list Items in accordance with commissioning superintendent (COT) priorities.
• Assistance to supervisor for coordination and supervision of construction support activities during the performance of the pre-commissioning, commissioning activities.

Knowledge & Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

Experience

• At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in construction of large oil & gas plants / EPC projects.
