Job summary

Kerzner International Limited at One&Only The Palm in Dubai is seeking a Commis I for our Main Kitchen to assist in food preparation, mise-en-place and daily kitchen operations, under the guidance of senior chefs. You will contribute to maintaining high culinary standards and guest satisfaction in a luxury resort environment.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of hotel or restaurant experience, strong English communication, teamwork, and a positive attitude.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in a quality hotel, resort or restaurant environment.
• Strong knowledge of basic food preparation, cooking techniques and kitchen operations.
• Motivated team player with good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Positive attitude and commitment to high standards of food quality, presentation and hygiene.
• Good English communication skills; additional language advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation, cooking and presentation of dishes in line with resort standards.
• Take responsibility for assigned kitchen sections and ensure smooth daily operations under senior chefs.
• Prepare and organize mise-en-place to support timely food production and service.
• Ensure consistency, quality and correct portioning of Italian menu items where applicable.
• Inspect ingredients for freshness and compliance with food safety standards.
• Follow FIFO, labeling, and stock rotation procedures to minimize waste.
• Maintain hygiene and food safety in line with HACCP and company guidelines.
• Coordinate with other kitchen sections to ensure seamless service.
