Job summary

Rosewood Abu Dhabi is seeking a Commis 1 to join the Culinary team. You will report to the Junior Sous Chef and support daily kitchen operations while contributing to culinary excellence.

You will prepare and present high-quality dishes, maintain mise en place, and uphold food safety standards. You’ll guide junior associates and continuously develop your own skills in a dynamic hotel kitchen.

Qualifications

• Experience in a professional kitchen within a hotel, resort, or high-quality restaurant.
• Passion for culinary excellence and pride in producing high-quality dishes.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen operations, and food safety standards.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to perform under pressure.
• Enjoy working collaboratively and supporting the development of junior team members.
• English communication; additional languages a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and present dishes according to Rosewood culinary standards and recipes.
• Ensure mise en place is organized and fully prepared for all service periods.
• Maintain strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations.
• Monitor product quality, consistency, portion control, and presentation standards.
• Support and guide Commis 2 and Commis 3 associates in daily kitchen operations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment while ensuring proper care of equipment.
