Job summary

Ardent Build Partners in Dubai seeks a Commercial Manager to lead the commercial function across a portfolio of fit-out projects, from tender handover to final account. You will report to senior management, own the numbers, and drive procurement, payments and claims.

The role requires a Degree in Quantity Surveying, 10+ years’ experience, and a strong UAE fit-out background with FIDIC knowledge; based in the UAE and comfortable leading client meetings.

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or similar qualification.
• 10+ years experience with at least 3 years in a senior commercial role.
• Strong UAE fit-out contractor background and proven final accounts experience.

Commercial Manager - Fit Out - Dubai, UAE

About the role

Ardent Build Partners is recruiting a Commercial Manager for a well established Dubai fit out contractor. The business delivers high end commercial, retail, hospitality and residential interiors across the UAE, with a strong pipeline and repeat clients.

You will lead the commercial function across a portfolio of live projects, report into senior management and own the numbers from tender handover to final account.

Key responsibilities

• Lead commercial management across multiple fit out projects from award to final account
• Manage, mentor and develop a team of QSs
• Review and administer main contracts and subcontracts, flag risk early
• Own monthly cost reports, cost to complete, cash flow and margin forecasting
• Drive payment applications, valuations and collection
• Manage variations, change orders and claims, and protect entitlement
• Lead procurement and subcontractor negotiations
• Settle final accounts with clients and subcontractors
• Present commercial position to directors and clients

Requirements

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or similar
• 10+ years experience, with at least 3 years as Commercial Manager or Lead QS leading a team
• Strong UAE fit out contractor background is essential
• Solid knowledge of FIDIC and UAE contract practice
• Proven track record on final accounts, variations and claims
• Confident communicator, comfortable leading client meetings
• Currently based in the UAE
