Job summary

Qualifications

• 4–7 years in category management, category operations, commercial operations, or retail merchandising.
• Experience with established retailers, grocery and FMCG businesses.
• Strong understanding of category performance, supplier negotiations, pricing, promotions and margins.
• Proven ability to analyse business data and translate insights into commercial actions.
• Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement commercial strategies to drive revenue growth, profitability, and market competitiveness.
• Oversee category operations, including assortment planning, pricing, promotions, and product availability.
• Lead supplier and brand negotiations to secure competitive pricing and favourable terms.
• Track and analyse category KPIs (revenue, gross margins, sell-through, availability, promotions).
• Optimise assortment, pricing strategies and promotional plans for profitability.
• Collaborate with supply chain, merchandising, marketing, and operations to ensure seamless execution.
• Analyse market trends, competitor pricing, and consumer behaviour to identify opportunities.
• Prepare regular performance reports and translate insights into recommendations and corrective actions.
• Drive process improvements and ensure compliance with commercial policies.
