Job summary

Southern Sun Abu Dhabi seeks a dedicated Commis 1 - Cold Kitchen to assist in preparing, producing and presenting salads, cold starters, sandwiches and canapés to exacting standards. You will support the Chef de Partie and culinary team to ensure high-quality dishes in a busy hotel kitchen.

The ideal candidate holds a relevant culinary qualification with professional kitchen experience and is prepared to work shifts, weekends and public holidays to help deliver outstanding guest service.

Qualifications

• Relevant culinary qualification or formal training in food preparation.
• Experience in a professional kitchen, hotel or catering environment.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation, production and presentation of salads, cold starters, sandwiches, canapés, dressings and other cold kitchen dishes.
• Follow recipes, portion controls and approved preparation methods to ensure quality.
• Prepare and handle fresh ingredients including vegetables, fruits, herbs, meats, seafood and cheeses.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the cold kitchen.
• Support the Chef de Partie and culinary team with smooth operation of the cold kitchen section.
• Receive, inspect, store, label and rotate ingredients per safety and stock control procedures.
