Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate with the Design department to create post and transfer programs for CNC machining to carry out the job as per the given drawing/specifications. Work with production personnel to select and maintain production tooling.
- Ensure efficient and profitable operation of the defined work center by optimum usage of tools, consumables, etc.
- Write instruction sheets and tool lists for the machine operator in order to guide setup and provide programs for machines.
- Observe machines on trial runs or conduct computer simulations to ensure that programs & machinery will function properly to produce items that meet specifications & achieve the quality requirements of the product.
- Detect equipment malfunctions or out of tolerance machining and adjust machines within capabilities, controls, or control media as required to ensure quality of production. Report all machine malfunctions to the Supervisor.
- Coordinate with the planning department for maximum utilization of machines; identify difficulties in manufacturing and update the supervisor accordingly.
- Provide technical support to CNC machine operators throughout the machine operations process.
- Contribute to a problem-solving process interrogation and root cause analysis for improving and troubleshooting our current tool qualification system.
- Ensure proper documentation of work done in a manner that is well accessible every time.
- Undertake machining work in CNC machines and conventional machines if required.
- Train and guide the machine operators in operating the machine as per SOP when instructed.
- Maintain contact with software and equipment suppliers regarding new developments relevant to CNC PLC and numerical control fields.
- Strictly follow housekeeping procedures including machine and tool equipment cleaning and ensure the surrounding area is absolutely clean and in order.
- Follow company HSE guidelines in respect of all operations undertaken and follow safety precautions highlighted in the SOP & manuals. Communicate potential hazards immediately to the supervisor.
- Perform any other job/task assigned by the Production Supervisor to accomplish department objectives.
Requirements
Experience in Five Axis CNC Milling is a must.
In-depth understanding of G-codes.
Experience in the Aeronautic industry preferred.
Ability to read engineering drawings and knowledge of various CNC controls and post-processing.
Experience in 3D modeling on UG / PROE, etc.
Knowledge on machinability of different metals.
Conversant with cutting tools & parameters like speed, feed, etc.
Precision measuring instruments & gauges.
Knowledge of quality systems and procedures.
