Civil Inspector – Water Network Projects (On-Site)

Job summary

Parsons is seeking an Inspector (Civil) to supervise water distribution network construction in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. You will work with Resident Engineers to ensure works comply with drawings, specifications and QA/QC plans while maintaining HSE standards.

Requirements include a BE/BSc in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, 2 years of site inspection experience, and fluent English. The role is full-time and on-site, with six-day weeks as required.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree (BE or BSc) in Civil or Mechanical, certified by the Ministry of Higher Education.
• Minimum 2 years of site inspection experience, preferably consultancy in similar scope.
• Knowledge of water network systems and associated civil works.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and inspection/test plans.
• Experience with trenching, excavation, shoring and backfilling.
• HSE knowledge for safe work practices including confined spaces, excavation, lifting and height.
• Familiarity with TAQA Distribution specs and OSHAD Codes.
• Good communication, coordination and reporting skills; fluent English.
• Available on a full-time basis and willing to work a six-day week on site.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Resident Engineers to supervise works to contract quality and sequence.
• Perform day-to-day site inspection of Contractor works and flag deviations.
• Inspect water network installation works including excavation, bedding, pipe laying, valves, hydrants, etc.
• Verify works meet approved drawings, specs, ITPs and standards; check alignment, levels, gradients.
• Attend and witness field and laboratory tests (pressure, flushing, disinfection, sampling).
• Inspect delivered materials for damage and contractual compliance.
• Monitor progress and report deviations to Assistant Resident Engineers.
• Maintain daily field logs, inspection records and site observations.
• Raise inspection requests and assist with non-conformance reports.
• Monitor protection of existing utilities during construction.
• Maintain QA/QC and HSE at site per plans.
• Participate in HSE walkthroughs, safety interventions and audits.
• Promote HSE reporting and employee safety concerns.
• Support snagging, de-snagging and final inspections on completion.
