Job summary

Parsons in Abu Dhabi, UAE seeks a Civil Inspector to supervise road and infrastructure construction, ensuring adherence to drawings, specs, and project standards. You will maintain detailed site records and coordinate testing and inspections with multiple disciplines.

You will work closely with Resident Engineer teams, officials, and contractors on on-site activities, ensuring safety and quality while documenting progress and deviations. UF AEd relations may be involved.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of demonstrable experience in road and infrastructure construction supervision.
• Practical experience across major road or general infrastructure projects.
• Ability to read and interpret working drawings.
• Strong understanding of construction specifications.
• Ability to verify and enforce applicable project requirements during field inspections.
• Experience coordinating inspection, sampling, and testing activities.
• Ability to maintain accurate construction and inspection records.
• Computer literacy for accessing project data, maintaining records, and preparing reports.
• Ability to use relevant project-specific engineering and construction software.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Effective interpersonal skills for coordination with contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Must be available in the UAE to attend the Client interview.

Responsibilities

• Inspect road, infrastructure, and associated civil construction activities in line with approved plans and specs.
• Coordinate daily with contractor foremen to ensure proper execution of work.
• Maintain a detailed daily diary of site activities and records of work completed, approved, or rejected.
• Coordinate sampling and testing activities and ensure traceable inspection records.
• Verify completed work against plans and specs and report discrepancies.
• Coordinate with surveyors to verify line and grade; support field verification of requirements.
• Interact with stakeholders and maintain effective communication with project personnel.
• Support health and safety adherence on construction sites and report safety concerns.
