Job summary

Mohamed Hilal Group in the UAE seeks a Civil Engineer to oversee civil construction activities across projects. You will ensure works follow approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and timelines, coordinating with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 5–8 years of civil construction experience.
• Experience with building construction and site execution.
• Experience managing civil works from mobilization to handover.
• Strong ability to read drawings, specs, BOQs, and docs.
• Experience coordinating subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, and site teams.
• Knowledge of construction methods, materials and quality standards.
• Experience in UAE/GCC projects preferred.
• Relevant UAE engineering certification/approval is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor day-to-day civil construction activities at project sites.
• Ensure construction works are executed as per approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project schedules.
• Review and interpret civil, structural, architectural, and technical drawings.
• Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams to ensure smooth project execution.
• Monitor the progress of civil works and ensure activities remain aligned with project timelines.
• Inspect completed and ongoing works to ensure compliance with required quality standards.
• Identify construction issues, technical challenges, and site constraints and coordinate with relevant stakeholders for timely resolution.
• Prepare and maintain daily and weekly progress reports.
• Coordinate material requirements and ensure materials are available as per project requirements.
• Monitor subcontractor performance, manpower deployment, productivity, and quality of work.
• Assist in planning and sequencing construction activities to optimize resources and minimize delays.
• Coordinate with MEP and other disciplines to ensure proper integration of civil and building works.
• Conduct regular site inspections and ensure adherence to approved construction methodologies.
• Assist with quantity measurements, BOQs, variations, and verification of subcontractor work where required.
• Monitor project costs and minimize material wastage and unnecessary rework.
• Coordinate inspections with consultants and relevant authorities as required.
• Ensure all site activities comply with applicable HSE requirements and company policies.
• Support testing, snagging, rectification, and project handover activities.
• Maintain proper project documentation, records, inspection requests, and technical correspondence.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Strong experience in building construction and site execution.
• Experience managing civil works from mobilization through completion and handover.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, BOQs, and project documentation.
• Experience coordinating subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, and site teams.
• Good knowledge of construction methods, materials, and quality standards.
• Experience with commercial, residential, hospitality, retail, or luxury construction projects is preferred.
• UAE/GCC construction experience is preferred.
• Relevant UAE engineering certification/approval would be an advantage.
