Key Responsibilities

• Inspect meat, seafood, fruits, vegetables, eggs, and other perishable products during inbound receiving.
• Conduct quality checks at Amazon stores, hubs, and vendor locations.
• Verify that fresh products meet required appearance, freshness, condition, and quality specifications.
• Reject damaged, defective, spoiled, or non-compliant items and return them to the responsible vendor.
• Maintain accurate records of rejected items by product, vendor, and quantity.
• Analyze rejection trends to identify recurring supplier or product-quality problems.
• Audit product quality during picking and packing activities performed by operational associates.
• Monitor packaging practices to ensure fresh and perishable goods are protected appropriately during order preparation.
• Identify packaging failures that could contribute to damage, deterioration, or poor customer experience.
• Conduct daily bin audits and verify the condition of stored products.
• Prepare daily and weekly quality reports for relevant stakeholders.
• Escalate significant quality concerns and support timely corrective actions.
• Train store and hub associates on food quality procedures, standard operating procedures, and packaging requirements.
• Reinforce practical quality standards through coaching and on-ground guidance.
• Work with vendors to improve handling, product selection, packaging, and delivery quality.
• Support process improvement initiatives designed to reduce damage, expiry, and avoidable product rejection.

• Collaborate with instock managers to improve buying efficiency for fresh produce.
• Work with vendor managers to address supplier quality gaps and recurring non-conformance.
• Coordinate with store operations managers to maintain consistent execution of quality procedures.
• Partner with fulfillment teams to improve handling throughout the inbound, storage, picking, and packing journey.
• Track customer experience indicators connected to product freshness and quality.
• Use operational data to identify patterns and prioritize quality improvement initiatives.
• Participate in stakeholder meetings and provide evidence-based updates on quality performance.
• Support HACCP, ISO 22000, GMP, and food safety requirements where applicable.

Ideal Profile
