Job summary

Jobtailor in Dubai seeks an experienced Cargo Operations Coordinator to manage specialized cargo operations across UAE ports. You will ensure safe on-site execution and coordinate Ports & Customs processes, IMDG cargo, and claims with multiple stakeholders.

The role requires 2–3 years in a similar operational capacity, familiarity with UAE port environments, and strong English communication. UAE driving license and willingness to visit sites are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years' relevant industry experience in a similar operational capacity.
• Knowledge of the end-to-end logistics operations process.
• Exposure to UAE port/terminal operations, dangerous goods, special cargo, claims or CFS activities.
• Arabic language capability would be an advantage
• UAE driving license
• Knowledge of IMDG Codes and applicable local regulations
• Good working knowledge of the UAE port environment and operational processes
• Knowledge/exposure to DPA/EHS and Claims processes
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work effectively with relevant software/IT applications
• Ability to coordinate effectively with multiple internal and external operational stakeholders
• Strong analytical, practical problem-solving and decision-making capability
• Ability to remain calm and respond effectively to operational issues
• Willingness and ability to attend operational sites when required

Responsibilities

• Support and coordinate specialized cargo operations across UAE ports.
• Ensure safe and effective on-site execution.
• Coordinate Ports & Customs processes, dangerous goods/IMDG cargo, Dubai Port Authorities and other port requirements, claims, and CFS activities.
• Maintain working knowledge of Ports and Customs processes and coordinate with relevant personnel.
• Monitor changes in procedures, regulations, and system implementations and communicate updates to Head Office, Port of Loading, and concerned departments.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of dangerous goods requirements across UAE ports.
• Obtain prior permissions from local authorities for cargo handling.
• Coordinate with Import and Export Customer Service teams regarding direct deliveries.
• Report incidents involving damage to containers, vessels, or other property to the Claims Handler.
• Serve Notice of Claim to liable parties, coordinate with surveyors, and consolidate claim costs for recovery.
• Coordinate with CFS on container reworking, inspections, and documentation for general and perishable cargo.
• Consolidate relevant CFS costs for recovery and ensure operational follow-up.
• Coordinate closely with terminals, port and local authorities, Head Office, Port of Loading, Customer Service teams, and other stakeholders
