About the Position
Wynn Al Marjan Island is currently seeking a Buyer to join the resort’s Purchasing Team.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for sourcing, primary negotiation, processing and ordering of goods and services for F&B as required by end users in accordance with procurement operations.
- Ensure ordering of goods and services meets customers’ requirements and follows all relevant policies and procedures.
- Accurately record purchasing information by performing data entry tasks associated with purchase requisitions (manual or computer generated) and purchase orders, including corrections or cancellations.
- Ensure quality and cost effectiveness by monitoring and documenting sourcing, negotiating price and availability of product as per customer department requirements and specifications within agreed lead‑times.
- Undertake analysis and measurement by preparing reports for review of supply chain performance to ensure smooth and improved operation of supply chain activities.
- Maintain productive and proactive business relations with suppliers and related organizations within strict contractual supply guidelines.
- Visit store areas periodically to monitor stock on premises and potential use and level of holdings.
- Assist with preparation of monthly reports on orders raised, products used, and stock holdings issued to departments, ensuring adequate levels are maintained.
- Resolve discrepancies between purchase orders, receiving documentation and vendor invoices.
- Catalogue and maintain product and supplier files.
- Document all relevant information and supplier responses regarding product availability, specification and price.
- Collaborate with end users and Inventory Control to manage inventory levels to supply operational needs, maximizing turnover and storage space.
- Enforce procurement internal controls, policies and procedures for inventory and non‑inventory purchases, services, petty cash and emergency purchases.
- Advise the Manager, Procurement of unusual or significant costs, purchases and consumption of inventory and non‑inventory items, and suggest ways to reduce costs, including alternative sources for products.
- Handle all correspondence, negotiations and procurement to the company’s best advantage.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize work and follow through on issues in a timely manner.
- Update and contribute to monthly reporting.
- Perform duties assigned by the Senior Buyer or other members of Procurement Management.
- Interact with department and company team members, management, and suppliers professionally and positively.
- Encourage good relationships, promote team spirit, and ensure effective two‑way multicultural communications.
- Demonstrate reliability in completing tasks, attendance and punctuality.
- Take responsibility for own performance improvement and professional development.
About You
- Secondary school diploma or above.
- Minimum of 2 years’ related experience in luxury hotel & resort food & beverage procurement.
- BirchStreet experience is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Strong integrity and well‑organized.
- Team player who responds quickly to demands and thrives in a high‑pressure work environment.
