About the Position
Wynn Al Marjan Island is currently seeking an Assistant Manager – Procurement to join the resort’s Procurement team.
Take responsibility for own performance improvement and professional development.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Source, negotiate and procure the correct products and services required by the user departments in accordance with departmental and company policy
- Maintain current market conditions on required commodities
- Prepare RFQ and RFP documents in accordance with company and departmental policies
- Analyse bid responses to make fiscally sound recommendations, documenting supplier responses
- Resolve any discrepancies between purchase orders, receiving documentation and vendor invoices
- Create, develop and maintain productive and proactive business relationships with key suppliers, within strict contractual supply guidelines as directed
- Collaborate with the warehouse and user departments to maintain the right mix of products at appropriate par levels
- Conduct periodic quality checks of incoming merchandise in collaboration with personnel from the Business units
- Maintain accurate and timely logs of all purchasing activities
- Assist with the preparation of various monthly reports and key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Enforce Procurement internal controls, policies and procedures for inventory and non-inventory purchases, services, petty cash and emergency purchases
- Advise the Manager, Procurement of unusual or remarkable costs, purchases and consumption of inventory and non-inventory items and suggest ways to reduce costs, including alternative sources for products
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritise work and follow through on issues in a timely manner
- Perform duties assigned by other members of Procurement Management
- Participate in training and other activities to facilitate high team performance
- Provide training to team members by enhancing product knowledge, system applications and negotiation skills
- Always maintain strict confidentiality on all matters
- Interact with Department and Company Team Members, management, and suppliers professionally and positively
- Encourage good relationships, promote team spirit, and ensure effective two-way communications
- Adhere to the Company policies and procedures and comply with the Code of Conduct
- Follow health and safety standards and strive for constant improvement to avoid health and injury hazards
- Participate in the Company’s recycling program and follow a strict discipline to reduce, re-use and recycle wherever possible
- Demonstrate reliability on completion of tasks, attendance and punctuality
Experience and Qualifications
- Advanced Degree or a Bachelor's degree & equivalent combination of education and experience
- Holding or working towards a procurement related diploma certification is an advantage
- Minimum of 5 years’ related experience in a large organization
- Possessed strong understanding of global sourcing. Knowledge of local UAE supplier market is a strong advantage
- Experience in managing high volume or complex tender processes
- Business and customer-oriented team player with ability to manage senior stakeholders
- Proven program management skills and able to demonstrate leadership capabilities
- Intermediate MS Office (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong knowledge of Procurement systems- BirchStreet (BSS) specifically is an advantage
- Strong integrity and well-organized
- Team player who responds quickly to demands and thrives in a high-pressure work environment
