The Bus Driver supports hotel workforce operations by providing dependable daily transportation for colleagues travelling between staff accommodation and the hotel. The position combines safe vehicle operation with basic maintenance checks, route awareness, passenger service, reporting, and coordination with the transportation team. Reliable scheduling and responsible driving help employees reach their shifts on time while supporting safe and efficient hotel operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Pick up and drop off hotel colleagues between designated staff accommodation and the hotel according to approved transportation schedules.
- Operate buses and other assigned transportation vehicles safely and in compliance with UAE traffic regulations.
- Maintain a courteous and professional approach when assisting employees and other authorised passengers.
- Keep the assigned vehicle clean, organised, and presentable through regular interior and exterior cleaning.
- Carry out routine vehicle checks before and after journeys to identify safety, maintenance, or operational concerns.
- Perform minor vehicle maintenance tasks where appropriate and report more significant defects promptly.
- Refuel assigned vehicles and ensure sufficient fuel is available before scheduled trips.
- Monitor periodic vehicle maintenance requirements and report servicing needs to the Transportation Team Leader or Employee Services Manager.
- Prepare accurate trip records covering journeys, mileage, timing, and operational requirements.
- Complete accident and incident reports when necessary and communicate relevant information to management immediately.
- Review and update transportation logbooks to maintain a clear operational record.
- Report transportation activities, delays, passenger concerns, and unusual incidents to the responsible manager.
- Address passenger complaints professionally and address unresolved matters where required.
- Maintain service standards relating to punctuality, passenger safety, vehicle condition, and professional conduct.
- Use strong knowledge of Dubai roads, routes, landmarks, staff accommodation areas, and hotel access points to select efficient travel routes.
- Stay informed about local road regulations, traffic restrictions, and safe driving requirements.
- Coordinate daily activities and transportation information with the Transportation Team Leader.
- Assist Housekeeping, Engineering, Food and Beverage, and other hotel departments when transportation support is required.
- Provide additional operational assistance when not engaged in scheduled transportation duties.
- Maintain professional grooming, appropriate uniform standards, and a friendly disposition while on duty.
- Attend scheduled training sessions, briefings, and departmental meetings.
- Communicate essential shift information clearly to colleagues and supervisors to maintain continuity of transportation services.
- Follow relevant company documentation, transportation procedures, operational standards, and hotel policies.
Ideal Profile
This role is suited to a safety-conscious driver who understands the importance of punctual employee transportation within a busy hotel operation.
- Diploma or high school qualification.
- Valid UAE driving license suitable for the assigned vehicle category.
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in a 4-5 star hotel environment or relevant UAE driving experience.
- Strong familiarity with roads, landmarks, traffic routes, and major areas across Dubai and the wider UAE.
- Practical knowledge of UAE traffic laws and road safety requirements.
- Experience operating buses, vans, or similar passenger transportation vehicles.
- Ability to perform basic vehicle inspections and identify maintenance requirements.
- Comfortable preparing trip reports, logbook entries, and incident documentation.
- Physically capable of supporting routine vehicle-related duties during scheduled shifts.
- Able to remain calm and courteous when dealing with passengers, delays, or service issues.
- Good coordination skills for working with transportation supervisors and hotel departments.
