Job summary

Tanqeeb in Abu Dhabi seeks a dedicated Commis Chef to prepare and cook burgers, sliders, sandwiches, fries, and nibbles following established recipes and standards in a fast-paced kitchen.

You will maintain mise en place, supervise the station during service, ensure food safety and hygiene, coordinate with other sections, and assist with stock checks and menu trials as needed. Training junior staff and adhering to health and safety requirements are also part of the role.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook burgers, sliders, sandwiches, fries, appetizers, and nibbles per recipes and standards.
• Prepare and portion meats, sauces, toppings, vegetables, and other ingredients.
• Ensure consistent taste, quality, portion size, and presentation of all dishes.
• Manage the Burger & Nibbles section during service and ensure timely food preparation.
• Maintain proper mise en place before and during service.
• Monitor food quality, freshness, and storage conditions.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, HACCP, and kitchen sanitation procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstation and equipment.
• Coordinate with other kitchen sections to ensure smooth service.
• Minimize food wastage through portion control and proper storage.
• Assist with stock checks and inform the Sous Chef of shortages.
• Support menu prep, new recipe trials, and special requirements when needed.
• Train and guide junior kitchen staff in the assigned section.
• Follow all company policies, kitchen procedures, and health and safety requirements.
