Job summary

Rixos Hotels in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Banquet Manager to coordinate between departments, lead the banquet team, and uphold luxury service standards. You will oversee budgets, train supervisors, and collaborate with culinary and events teams to maximize revenue and guest satisfaction.

A college degree in hotel management and proven leadership in upscale venues are preferred, along with relevant certifications and guest-relations experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 23 years of Food & Beverage Banquet Catering or Conference Services experience preferably in a luxury or upper-upscale hotel.
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a banquet or events environment preferred.
• College degree in Hotel Management Hospitality Restaurant Management or a related field preferred.
• Previous food and beverage or culinary training preferred.
• Previous guest relations or luxury service training preferred.
• Food handler and responsible alcohol service certification required as applicable.
• Previous experience with hotel Point of Sale Systems.

Responsibilities

• Address guest concerns and react quickly and professionally.
• Train Supervisors in the absence of a trainer.
• Provide coaching and support including conducting performance evaluations.
• Support the recruitment of Banquet team members.
• Balance operational administrative and Colleague needs.
• Conduct regularly scheduled departmental meetings.
• Work closely with the Culinary and Stewarding team to ensure all banquet meeting requirements are in place.
• Work with the Conference Services & Catering department to ensure that revenues and guest satisfaction levels are maximized.
• Manage the departmental budget.
• Scheduling and payroll support for the Banquet department.
• Follow outlet policies procedures and service standards.
• Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Ability to provide clear and effective written and verbal direction
• Ability to work well under pressure and effectively manage multiple priorities
• Strong guest service orientation with a passion for luxury hospitality
• Ability to lead by example and motivate colleagues to achieve service excellence
• Familiarity with food and beverage cost controls preferred
• Fluency in a second language is an asset
• Ability to work on a flexible schedule including evenings weekends holidays and varying event schedules
• Ability to stand walk bend lift and remain active for extended periods throughout the workday
