Job summary

The AV Technician at KERZNER INTERNATIONAL LIMITED is responsible for the setup, operation, maintenance, and repair of audio-visual systems and equipment throughout the property. You will support events, conferences, and daily operations by ensuring reliable performance of sound, lighting, projection, video conferencing, digital signage and other multimedia technologies.

Qualifications

• AV Technical Diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge in operating a multi-input AV system (projectors, screens, etc.).
• Minimum of 3 years hands-on experience in related field, preferably in hotels.
• Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving abilities.
• Familiarity with AV equipment setup, wiring, and signal routing.
• Knowledge of lighting and audio equipment operation.
• Good communication and customer service for guest-facing situations.

Responsibilities

• Set up projectors, sound systems, video conferencing equipment, screens, cameras, and lighting.
• Configure equipment per BEO or client instructions.
• Test and operate equipment during rehearsals and events.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair AV systems as needed.
• Manage equipment booking and tracking systems.
• Train banquet staff on equipment use.
• Check venue AV gear and plan upgrades when needed.
• Assist guests during events.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Job Summary

The AV Technician is responsible for the setup operation maintenance and repair of audio-visual systems and equipment throughout the property The role supports events conferences and daily operational requirements by ensuring reliable performance of sound systems lighting projection video conferencing digital signage and other multimedia technologies The AV Technician works closely with the Events IT and Engineering teams to provide technical support coordinate event requirements and ensure seamless delivery of AV services The position also ensures compliance with safety and quality standards while maintaining accurate records of equipment inventory and preventive maintenance schedules

Key Responsibilities

• Sets up the following Projectors Sound Systems Video conferencing equipment LCD or plasma screens Video amp still cameras Image editing software amp lighting
• Sets up equipment according to the instruction based on the Banquet Events Order BEO or client
• Tests equipment before the event and operating the equipment during rehearsal testing and during the event
• Deals with all aspects of Audio Visual System set up checking troubleshooting maintenance and repair of all equipment as needed
• Manages equipment booking and tracking system
• Training other banquet staff members on how to use amp operate equipment
• Checks venue s AV equipment and recommending or organizing upgrades when necessary
• Assists the guests during the events
• Performs other duties assigned by management

Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements

• Audio Visual Technical Diploma or equivalent Knowledge in operating a multi-input AV system Projectors Screen etc Minimum of 3 years experience in related field with hands on experience Experience in Hotel industry Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving abilities Familiarity with AV equipment setup wiring and signal routing Knowledge of lighting and audio equipment operation Good communication and customer service skills for guest-facing situations Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple event setups Attention to detail and strong documentation skills Ability to lift and handle equipment safely Good Communicating skill with guest and staff
