Job summary

Avani Palm View Dubai Hotel & Suites in Dubai seeks an experienced AV Technician to install, operate and maintain the hotel's audio-visual systems for meetings, conferences and events. You will set up and dismantle equipment, ensure reliable performance and coordinate with various departments to meet event requirements.

Responsibilities include testing equipment, troubleshooting issues, maintaining inventories, and adhering to brand standards during all events.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and dismantle AV equipment for meetings, conferences, banquets, weddings and events.
• Install, inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot projectors, LED screens, televisions, sound systems, microphones, video conferencing and control systems.
• Carry out preventive maintenance on AV equipment to ensure reliable performance.
• Respond promptly to AV-related maintenance requests from guests and internal departments.
• Test all equipment before events to ensure full operational status.
• Monitor audio, video and presentation systems during events and provide technical support.
• Troubleshoot issues quickly to minimize disruptions during events.
• Coordinate with Banquets, Events, Sales, IT and other departments to meet event requirements.
• Maintain inventory of AV equipment, accessories, cables and spare parts.
• Keep accurate maintenance records, service reports and equipment history.
• Ensure AV equipment is handled, stored and maintained in good working condition.
• Follow hotel policies, health and safety procedures, and brand standards at all times.
• Support energy conservation initiatives and recommend equipment improvements when appropriate.
• Assist the Engineering team with general maintenance duties when operationally required.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Chief Engineer or Engineering Supervisor.

The AV Technician is responsible for the installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the hotel's audio-visual equipment.
