Job summary

Anix Global in the United Arab Emirates seeks an Audio-Visual Technician to install, operate and maintain AV gear for events and presentations.

You will set up audio, video, projection, lighting and conferencing equipment, conduct pre-event tests, troubleshoot issues, support users, and ensure safety and quality standards. Experience with Crestron, Extron or similar control systems is desirable.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Electronics, Audio Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Knowledge of AV equipment and control systems; relevant certifications are a plus.
• Experience with AV installation, event production, or technical support.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate audio, video, projection, lighting, and conferencing equipment.
• Install AV systems including speakers, microphones, displays, projectors, video walls, and control systems.
• Conduct pre-event equipment testing and system checks.
• Monitor live events and presentations to ensure smooth operation.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and perform repairs when necessary.
• Configure video conferencing and hybrid meeting platforms.
• Manage AV cabling, signal routing, and network-connected devices.
• Maintain inventory of AV equipment and accessories.

The Audio-Visual Technician supports the installation, operation, and maintenance of audiovisual equipment to ensure high-quality sound, video, and presentation experiences. The technician works closely with clients, event organizers, and technical teams to deliver seamless AV services.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate audio, video, projection, lighting, and conferencing equipment.
• Install AV systems including speakers, microphones, displays, projectors, video walls, and control systems.
• Conduct pre-event equipment testing and system checks.
• Monitor live events and presentations to ensure smooth operation.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and perform repairs when necessary.
• Configure video conferencing and hybrid meeting platforms.
• Manage AV cabling, signal routing, and network-connected devices.
• Maintain inventory of AV equipment and accessories.

Required Skills

• Knowledge of audio systems, microphones, mixers, amplifiers, and DSPs.
• Understanding of video technologies, displays, projectors, and switching systems.
• Familiarity with AV systems like Crestron, Extron, Lutron, Retractable monitors, etc.
• Ability to read technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Basic networking knowledge (IP addressing, PoE).
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Electronics, Audio Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Relevant AV certifications are an advantage, such as those from Audiovisual and Integrated Experience Association.
