Job summary

The Meydan Hotel in Dubai seeks an AV Technician to oversee the setup, operation, maintenance, and repair of audio-visual systems across the property. Qualifications

• AV technical diploma or equivalent.
• Experience operating multi-input AV systems, projectors, screens.
• Hotel industry experience preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Familiarity with AV setup, wiring, and signal routing.
• Knowledge of lighting and audio equipment operation.
• Good communication and customer service for guest-facing situations.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple event setups.

Responsibilities

• Set up projectors, LCD/plasma screens, image editing software & lighting.

Job Summary

The AV Technician is responsible for the setup, operation, maintenance, and repair of audio-visual systems and equipment throughout the property. The role supports events, conferences, and daily operational requirements by ensuring reliable performance of sound systems, lighting, projection, video conferencing, digital signage, and other multimedia technologies. The AV Technician works closely with the Events, IT, and Engineering teams to provide technical support, coordinate event requirements, and ensure seamless delivery of AV services. The position also ensures compliance with safety and quality standards while maintaining accurate records of equipment, inventory, and preventive maintenance schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Sets up the following:
• Projectors
• LCD or plasma screens
• Image editing software & lighting
• Sets up equipment according to the instruction based on the Banquet Events Order (BEO) or client.
• Tests equipment before the event and operating the equipment during rehearsal, testing, and during the event.
• Deals with all aspects of Audio Visual System set up checking, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of all equipment as needed.
• Manages equipment booking and tracking system.
• Training other banquet staff members on how to use & operate equipment.
• Checks venue’s AV equipment and recommending or organizing upgrades when necessary.
• Assists the guests during the events.
• Performs other duties assigned by management

Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements

• Audio Visual Technical Diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge in operating a multi-input AV system, Projectors, Screen etc.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in related field with hands on experience
• Experience in Hotel industry.
• Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving abilities.
• Familiarity with AV equipment setup, wiring, and signal routing.
• Knowledge of lighting and audio equipment operation.
• Good communication and customer service skills for guest-facing situations.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple event setups.
• Attention to detail and strong documentation skills.
• Ability to lift and handle equipment safely.
• Good Communicating skill with guest and staff.
