Role Context
The Associate Manager - Store Design Projects manages the operational lifecycle of store development assets while supporting the successful delivery of retail projects across Majid Al Futtaim Retail. The position connects project teams, suppliers, warehouses, procurement functions, contractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure fixtures, equipment, signage, and related materials are available when required. Strong asset control and project coordination in this role help reduce delays, improve reuse of store assets, control project costs, and support consistent store standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate project schedules, documentation, stakeholder actions, approvals, and key milestones across store development activities.
- Manage the lifecycle of store fixtures, equipment, signage, and other development assets from specification through deployment and eventual disposal.
- Prepare and maintain asset specifications while supporting standardization across the retail network.
- Maintain accurate asset registers, stock records, inventory documentation, and warehouse data.
- Monitor asset utilization and identify opportunities to redeploy existing fixtures and equipment before new procurement is initiated.
- Coordinate asset transfers, recovery, movement, installation, storage, and disposal activities.
- Ensure required assets are available in line with store opening, relocation, refurbishment, and renovation schedules.
- Maintain regular presence at the asset warehouse to verify inventory accuracy, storage conditions, and readiness for upcoming projects.
- Coordinate with procurement teams and suppliers on sourcing, quotations, purchase requirements, lead times, and delivery schedules.
- Manage store signage projects from initial requirement through supplier coordination, production, installation, permits, and final approvals.
- Follow up with relevant UAE authorities on signage permits and other project-related regulatory approvals.
- Support store openings by tracking fixtures, signage, equipment, documentation, and outstanding actions.
- Assist project teams with store relocations, refurbishment works, asset replacement, and close-out activities.
- Conduct site visits to verify project progress, installation quality, asset requirements, and readiness for handover.
- Support project handovers and ensure outstanding defects, documentation, and asset-related matters are followed through to closure.
- Maintain organized project records including specifications, approvals, supplier documentation, asset schedules, and authority correspondence.
- Coordinate stakeholders to resolve delays, inventory gaps, permit issues, and supplier-related challenges that could affect project delivery.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor 's degree in Engineering or Architecture.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in retail development, asset management, warehousing, procurement, signage, facilities, or a comparable environment.
- Practical experience in project coordination across multiple stakeholders and concurrent workstreams.
- Strong understanding of procurement administration, supplier management, inventory control, and asset tracking.
- Previous exposure to retail store openings, relocations, refurbishments, or development projects is advantageous.
- UAE retail project experience and familiarity with authority approval processes across the Emirates are preferred.
- Signage project experience is highly desirable.
- Comfortable working between corporate offices, project sites, stores, supplier locations, and asset warehouses.
- Strong attention to detail when maintaining asset registers, specifications, records, and project documentation.
- Able to coordinate timelines, approvals, deliveries, and dependencies while keeping stakeholders informed.
- Practical problem‑solving capability with a hands‑on approach to resolving project and asset availability issues.
- Strong organizational skills for managing multiple store projects, asset movements, and supplier actions simultaneously.
