Job summary

Parsons in Abu Dhabi, UAE, is seeking an Assistant Resident Engineer – Structures/Bridge to lead and supervise bridge and structural works on an island project. You will review drawings, coordinate site activities, and ensure compliance with codes, standards, and contract requirements.

Ideal candidates hold a Civil/Structural degree and have 12–15 years of experience in construction supervision of bridges and major structures, with strong leadership and safety focus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• 12–15 years of construction supervision experience on bridges and major structural works.
• Knowledge of bridge engineering principles, load paths, durability, and detailing.
• Experience with reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, steel or composite bridges.
• Familiarity with codes and standards (AASHTO, Eurocodes, BS, local).
• Effective communication to liaise with contractors, design consultants, and teams.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage construction activities related to bridges and major structural works.
• Act as the Assistant Resident Engineer for structural/bridge works, supporting the Resident Engineer.
• Ensure works conform to drawings, specs, codes and contract requirements.
• Lead structural inspections, foundations, substructures, superstructures, bearings, deck works and parapets.
• Review method statements, shop drawings, ITPs for structural activities.
• Coordinate material and structural tests and review test reports.
