Job summary

AECOM in Abu Dhabi seeks an Assistant Project Manager to support multidisciplinary civil infrastructure design projects, coordinating with the Project Manager and technical teams to control scope, programme, interfaces, risks and deliverables.

The role requires exposure to project or design management within an engineering consultancy, with a background in utilities, roads or transportation. You will collaborate across disciplines and help manage client and stakeholder interfaces.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 3–7 years of relevant experience including exposure to project/design management.
• Technical background in utilities, roads and transportation infrastructure.
• Experience in multidisciplinary design delivery and project lifecycle requirements.
• Good understanding of project planning, project controls, risk and change management.
• Familiarity with scheduling and project management tools such as Primavera P6 or MS Project.
• PMP or equivalent qualification is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager in day-to-day management and coordination of multidisciplinary design projects.
• Develop and monitor project programmes, milestones, and resource requirements.
• Coordinate interfaces between disciplines and identify scope gaps and dependencies.
• Track project progress, risks, actions, approvals, and key decisions.
• Support project controls including budgeting, forecasting and reporting.
• Identify potential scope changes and support management of variations.
• Coordinate with clients, authorities, subconsultants and other stakeholders.
• Prepare for client and project meetings, including agendas and follow-ups.
• Oversee QA/QC, BIM and document control processes to meet project requirements.
• Support authority submissions and approvals and monitor dependencies.
• Maintain project information management and records.
• Promote lessons learned and continuous improvement.
