The Assistant Project Manager supports the structured delivery of infrastructure assignments while developing the judgment required to manage increasingly complex projects. Depending on project requirements, the position may coordinate an entire lower-complexity assignment or assume responsibility for selected phases of a larger programme. Working under a Project Manager, Program Manager, or Regional Manager, the role connects project planning with day-to-day execution. It requires close attention to resources, emerging risks, documentation, stakeholder actions, and delivery priorities so that issues can be addressed before they materially affect project outcomes. The position also provides an opportunity to strengthen leadership capability through collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and guidance of less experienced colleagues.
Applicants must be UAE Nationals with a Family Book in accordance with the stated Emiratisation requirements. Candidates should hold a Bachelor 's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline and have approximately 2-4 years of experience supporting or coordinating construction or infrastructure projects. A sound understanding of project management principles is required, including project planning, risk identification, resource coordination, progress tracking, issue analysis, documentation, and stakeholder management. The successful candidate should be capable of working across different project phases while taking direction from senior leadership and independently managing responsibilities within an agreed level of authority. Strong organizational skills are important, along with the ability to assess project information logically, understand the consequences of decisions, and contribute practical solutions. Experience with project management software, reporting platforms, and Microsoft Office applications is expected. Previous experience guiding junior colleagues is advantageous.
This position creates a practical progression route for UAE National professionals who already have early project experience and are ready to take greater ownership of infrastructure delivery. Rather than focusing only on administrative coordination, the role develops capability in risk analysis, resource management, project decision-making, stakeholder engagement, and management of defined project phases. AECOM 's transportation and infrastructure portfolio provides exposure to multidisciplinary teams and established project delivery practices. Working alongside experienced project and program managers can build the technical, organizational, and leadership foundation required for progression toward independent Project Manager responsibilities.
