Role Context

The Assistant Project Manager supports the structured delivery of infrastructure assignments while developing the judgment required to manage increasingly complex projects. Depending on project requirements, the position may coordinate an entire lower-complexity assignment or assume responsibility for selected phases of a larger programme. Working under a Project Manager, Program Manager, or Regional Manager, the role connects project planning with day-to-day execution. It requires close attention to resources, emerging risks, documentation, stakeholder actions, and delivery priorities so that issues can be addressed before they materially affect project outcomes. The position also provides an opportunity to strengthen leadership capability through collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and guidance of less experienced colleagues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate assigned infrastructure and construction project activities under the direction of senior project leadership.
  • Manage lower-complexity projects or take ownership of defined phases within larger assignments.
  • Translate project requirements into organized actions, responsibilities, milestones, and resource needs.
  • Track delivery against approved scope, schedule, quality expectations, and agreed project objectives.
  • Coordinate personnel and other project resources to support efficient execution of assigned work.
  • Review progress information and identify emerging constraints before they develop into significant delivery problems.
  • Recognize opportunities to improve project performance, coordination, resource utilization, or working methods.
  • Investigate project issues using available technical information, stakeholder input, project records, and appropriate internal resources.
  • Develop alternative responses to identified challenges and support selection of the most effective course of action.
  • Evaluate the potential schedule, quality, resource, and stakeholder implications of project decisions.
  • Make objective decisions within delegated authority and escal… matters requiring senior management intervention.
  • Support project risk identification, assessment, mitigation planning, and follow-up.
  • Maintain accurate progress trackers, action registers, project records, correspondence, and management documentation.
  • Prepare clear project updates and contribute reliable information for management reporting and review meetings.
  • Coordinate communication between clients, consultants, contractors, internal disciplines, and project leadership.
  • Support multiple project phases and adjust priorities as delivery requirements evolve.
  • Monitor outstanding actions and follow through with responsible stakeholders to maintain project momentum.
  • Assist senior managers with project reviews, resource planning, issue resolution, and performance assessment.
  • Maintain effective communication across multidisciplinary teams and ensure relevant information reaches decision-makers promptly.
  • Provide practical guidance to junior or less experienced staff on project management processes and working practices.
Ideal Profile

Applicants must be UAE Nationals with a Family Book in accordance with the stated Emiratisation requirements. Candidates should hold a Bachelor 's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline and have approximately 2-4 years of experience supporting or coordinating construction or infrastructure projects. A sound understanding of project management principles is required, including project planning, risk identification, resource coordination, progress tracking, issue analysis, documentation, and stakeholder management. The successful candidate should be capable of working across different project phases while taking direction from senior leadership and independently managing responsibilities within an agreed level of authority. Strong organizational skills are important, along with the ability to assess project information logically, understand the consequences of decisions, and contribute practical solutions. Experience with project management software, reporting platforms, and Microsoft Office applications is expected. Previous experience guiding junior colleagues is advantageous.
