Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for Civil Infrastructure in Abu Dhabi, UAE. You will support planning, execution, and delivery of complex projects, ensuring on-time, within-budget completion and adherence to high-quality standards.

You will assist in scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and stakeholder coordination while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance across Abu Dhabi and the UAE. The role emphasizes continuous improvement and sustainable practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in civil infrastructure projects, focusing on roads, bridges, or utilities.
• Proficiency in project management software (MS Project, Primavera P6) and AutoCAD.
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, scheduling, and cost control.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills; ability to lead cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with UAE authorities requirements and procurement processes.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager in developing and maintaining project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth project execution.
• Monitor progress, identify risks, and propose mitigation strategies.
• Prepare and analyze project reports, including status updates, cost forecasts, and performance metrics.
• Support the procurement process, including vendor selection and contract management.
• Ensure compliance with local authorities requirements, safety regulations, and quality standards in Abu Dhabi and the UAE.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues and optimize project outcomes.
• Participate in site visits and inspections to monitor construction progress and quality.
• Assist in change management processes and document control.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and lessons learned documentation.
• Support the implementation of sustainable construction practices in infrastructure projects.

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Assistant Project Manager to join our Civil Infrastructure team based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In this role, you will support the successful planning, execution, and delivery of complex civil infrastructure projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager in developing and maintaining project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans
• Coordinate with various stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies, to ensure smooth project execution
• Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and propose mitigation strategies
• Prepare and analyze project reports, including status updates, cost forecasts, and performance metrics

• Proven track record in project planning, scheduling, and cost control
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Familiarity with ADQCC, local authorities requirements and regulations in the UAE
• Understanding of contract management and procurement processes
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Knowledge of sustainable construction practices and their application in infrastructure projects.

Other Requirements

• Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) software is a plus
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred
• Willingness to travel to project sites within the UAE as required.
