Job summary

Jumeirah Beach Hotel in Dubai is seeking an Assistant Manager - Engineering to lead engineering operations and oversee preventive maintenance across the hotel's luxury facilities.

You will supervise day-to-day activities, ensure adherence to SOPs, and coordinate with other departments to support guest services and events while maintaining safety and energy efficiency standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in engineering operations within luxury hospitality.
• 2–3 years in a leadership role.
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Proficiency in English required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementing engineering strategies and preventive maintenance.
• Supervise daily operations, ensuring timely work orders and SOP adherence.
• Ensure compliance with fire safety, life safety and health regulations.
• Manage spare parts inventory and procurement, aiming for cost efficiency.
• Prepare reports on maintenance activities, equipment performance and budget usage; support staff recruitment and training.
• Handle escalated technical issues and coordinate with vendors for specialized repairs.

The main duties and responsibilities of this role include:

• Assist in planning and implementing engineering strategies, preventive maintenance schedules, and energy-saving initiatives.
• Supervise daily operations, ensuring timely completion of work orders and adherence to SOPs and collaborate with other departments to ensure engineering support for guest services and events.
• Monitor compliance with JEMS, fire safety, life safety, and health regulations.
• Manage inventory of spare parts and tools, ensuring cost-effective procurement and usage.
• Prepare reports on maintenance activities, equipment performance, and budget utilization and support recruitment, training, and development of engineering staff.
• Handle escalated technical issues and coordinate with vendors for specialized repairs.

About You

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years in engineering operations within luxury hospitality, including 2-3 years in a leadership role.
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical/electrical engineering.
• Proficiency in English is essential.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to handling guest requests and service recovery.
