Job summary

Rixos Premium Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi is seeking an Assistant Laundry Manager to oversee daily operations of the hotel laundry and linen services, ensuring that guest laundry, hotel linen, uniforms, and other textile items are processed to the highest standards of quality and presentation.

You will supervise the laundry team, coordinate with Housekeeping and F&B, manage stock and equipment, uphold hygiene and safety standards, and drive cost control while delivering superior guest care.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of laundry experience in luxury hospitality.
• Previous supervisory or team-leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of commercial laundry operations and fabric-care.
• Good understanding of hygiene, health & safety and quality-control procedures.
• Experience with industrial laundry equipment and basic troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Laundry Manager in overall management of the hotel laundry department.
• Supervise and coordinate laundry team members, ensuring efficient workflow and high productivity.
• Monitor washing, drying, pressing, folding, sorting, and distribution of hotel linen, uniforms, guest laundry, and F&B linen.
• Ensure laundry is processed according to procedures, fabric-care instructions, and quality standards.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation in the laundry area.
• Coordinate with Housekeeping, Rooms Division, and F&B regarding linen and uniform requirements.
• Monitor guest laundry and special requests, handling them promptly and with care.
• Assist with preventive maintenance schedules and coordinate with Engineering when required.

Job Description

The Assistant Laundry Manager supports the Laundry Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the hotel laundry and linen services. The role ensures that all guest laundry, hotel linen, uniforms, and other textile items are processed efficiently and to the highest standards of quality, hygiene, and presentation in accordance with luxury hotel standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assistthe Laundry Managerin the overallmanagement and dailyoperation of thehotel laundry department.
• Supervise and coordinatelaundry team members, ensuringefficient workflow andhigh productivity.
• Monitor the washing, drying, pressing, folding, sorting, and distributionof hotellinen, uniforms, guestlaundry, and F&B linen.
• Ensure all laundryis processed accordingto approved procedures, fabric-care instructions, andquality standards.
• Maintain high standardsof cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation throughoutthe laundry area.
• Conduct regular inspectionsof processedlinen and uniformsto ensure theymeet the hotel'squality and presentationstandards.
• Monitor linen anduniform inventory levelsand assist withregular stocktaking.
• Coordinate with Housekeeping, Rooms Division, Food& Beverage, and otherdepartmentsregarding linen anduniform requirements.
• Ensure guest laundryand special laundryrequests are handledaccurately, promptly, andwith appropriatecare.
• Monitor the conditionand performance oflaundry equipment andreport technical issuespromptly.
• Assist withpreventive maintenanceschedules and coordinatewith Engineering whenrequired.
• Control the properuse of laundrychemicals, detergents, and other supplieswhile minimizing wasteand operational costs.
• Ensure proper handlingof damaged, stained, or lost linenand uniforms.
• Assist in preparingdutyrosters, allocating dailytasks, and monitoringattendance and performance.
• Train, coach, anddevelop laundry employeeson operating procedures, safety,hygiene, and qualitystandards.
• Ensure compliance withhotel policies, healthand safety regulations, fire safety procedures, and environmental standards.
• Monitordepartmental expenses andsupport cost-controlinitiatives.
• Maintain accurate recordsand prepare operationalreports as required.
• Assist the LaundryManager with audits, inspections, quality checks, and departmental projects.
• Step in andtakeresponsibility for thedepartment in theabsence of theLaundry Manager.

Qualifications

• Minimum3–5 yearsof laundry experience, preferably within a5-star hotelor luxury hospitalityenvironment.
• Previous supervisory orteam-leadership experiencein a hotellaundry operation.
• Strong knowledge ofcommercial laundry operations, linen handling, fabriccare, and laundrychemicals.
• Good understanding ofhygiene, health & safety, and quality-controlprocedures.
• Experience with industriallaundry equipment andbasic troubleshooting.
• Strong organizational andcommunication skills.
• Ability to workunderpressure in a fast-paced hotelenvironment.
• Good leadership, coaching, and team-managementskills.
• Professional appearanceand astrong commitment toguest service andluxury standards.
