Job summary

EDGE is seeking an experienced Aeromechanical Engineer in Abu Dhabi to lead integration of weapon systems on aircraft, ensuring mechanical interfaces, loads, and aeroelastic considerations are addressed throughout design reviews and testing.

The role requires at least 5 years in defense/aerospace with hands-on experience in aircraft–weapon interfaces, structural analysis, and verification activities, using CAD and CFD tools to support engineering decisions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of defense or aerospace experience, with aircraft–weapon integration exposure.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Aeronautical, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Knowledge of safety-critical development processes for airborne/weapon systems.

Responsibilities

• Aircraft–Weapon Aeromechanical Integration: perform integration activities including interfaces, carriage, and release environments.
• Mechanical Interface Definition: define and verify interfaces between weapon systems, suspension equipment, and aircraft structures.
• Structural, Loads & Dynamic Analysis: conduct analyses of loads, vibration, aeroelasticity and dynamic response for compatibility.
• Design & Integration Reviews: provide inputs, results, and justifications for design readiness reviews.
• Test & Verification Support: assist in ground and flight test preparation and data review.
• Compliance & Airworthiness: ensure activities comply with standards and airworthiness requirements.
• Engineering Documentation & Traceability: maintain calculations, reports, and evidence with traceability to requirements.
• Technical Issue Resolution: analyze and resolve aeromechanical issues during design, integration, or testing.
• Engineering Software & Analysis Tools: apply CAD and numerical tools (MATLAB, CFD) as required.
