Job summary

EDGE Group in Abu Dhabi seeks a Mechanical Airframe Systems Design Specialist to lead the design, integration and validation of UAV airframe subsystems including landing gear, fuel systems, ECS, hydraulics and actuation. You will develop 3D CAD models using CATIA V5/V6 or NX, produce manufacturing drawings and BOMs, and perform structural and thermomechanical analyses to ensure airworthiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering; Master's preferred.
• PE/CEng status and/or DOA exposure are advantageous.
• INCOSE ASEP/CSEP or PMP/PRINCE2 certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, integration and validation of mechanical airframe systems (landing gear, fuel, ECS, hydraulics, actuation) for UAVs.
• Create 3D CAD models and detailed drawings using CATIA V5/V6 or NX; produce BOMs.
• Perform structural, thermomechanical analyses to ensure system integrity under loads and enviro conditions.
• Collaborate with avionics, propulsion and flight controls for seamless integration.
• Define system requirements, ICDs and BOMs compliant with aerospace standards (AS9100, MIL-STD, DO-160).
• Support prototype builds, ground tests and flight trials; troubleshoot design issues.
• Ensure airworthiness compliance and defense sector quality standards.
• Drive continuous improvement to improve performance, manufacturability and maintainability.
